Jay Wadsworth is an investor and board advisor for several companies and a partner in W3 Capital, a private equity firm focused on investments in lower middle market technology companies.

Prior to W3 Capital, Jay spent the majority of his career as an entrepreneur and business leader in insurance and financial services. Most recently, Jay was the Managing Member and CEO of InSight Aviation Insurance, an insurance services and risk management firm specializing in the aerospace and defense industries. Jay started, grew and operated the business until its acquisition by AssuredPartners, forming the initial operating core of AssuredPartners Aerospace. Prior to InSight Aviation, Jay started and operated the aviation insurance practice and led M&A activities at Barger Insurance until its acquisition by BB&T. Earlier in his career, Jay worked as an investment banker and defense contractor.

Jay has a BS degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from UNC Chapel Hill.
